pages with ie compatibility Home

im not one of the greatest ie fans, but i think the ie engine has tremendous potential. somehow microsoft's breakaway browser, which doesn't comply to any of the known standards, allows quite a lot of freedom, which all i found while designing this site. for example, the support for xml. no other browser (that i know) lets you read xml data right into the tags. also, ie allows some DHTML and CSS breakaway's which allow you to add things like alpha opacities to elements. for example, the semi-black background to this element, had to be put in the background, because no other browser allows the filter:alpha css property.

which is why i think the new ie (7) with all the capabilities it boasts will be a formidable opponent to both opera and firefox. i personaly don't like firefox's slight sway away from standards, but i guess they didn't have a choice, with websites being spoilt because of ie's flexibility. lets see how this happens. ie 7 is scheduled early to mid next year. i am sure as hell waiting for the browser wars to get the kick it finally needs. plus, opera and firefox would have gotten way better (i know opera would've).

cheerio!
