battle of the players Home
Posted at 4:24 PM by Aditya

a few days back, i had reported the launch of the philips players, sporting sleek designing and backlit control buttons. then, yesterday came the announcement of the apple nano, which will definitely be a little tough on the competition. but today, i can proudle tell you about the sleekest of all players (if you don't mind the girly colours), by Sony.

The new Walkmans come in 6 and 20 gigabyte capacities. Sony also plans to release 3 flash memory based players as well. All five models will use the perfume-bottle shape that is found in Sony's current player.

technically, if we're going the english way, shouldn't it be "walkmen" and not "walkmans"? i know it sounds wrong, but if you're into speaking correct english, wouldn't THAT be the correct version? just a query. :D

that would be... the differences here being

a) SONY is a korean company... they are really not that english friendly

b) 'Walkman' is treated as a noun, and not a common word. Hence, just like the plural of Jenny is not Jennies, similarly, Walkmans is not the same as Walkmen.

I hope i got myself clear! :)
thanks for pointing it out though :D
