Run for it! Home
Posted at 12:02 PM by Shikha Choudhury

Yes, it's another excuse for the celebs to flaunt their 'peacock tails', another excuse for the media to be engaged on Sundays, another excuse for the sponsors to have their advertisements launched and ofcourse another reason the brihanmumbai(still didn't figure out what that means) municipal corporation to realise that they should clean up the sidewalks and paint the roads of their adorable city which was going to be on a live telecast...
Whatever, the reasons, it seems that the only engaging and interactive fund raising events are these marathons where mumbaikars give in their time not for losing their flab but for the underpriveleged. This seems to be way more constructive than the usual song and dance of glittery actors on stages where more money is spent on the sidedrops than donated to charity.
So let's hope that every road in Mumbai will be a marathon spot(i hope someday they'll have a cycle race on the Malabar Hills ... i mean picture people running up hehe) so that our 'efficient' municipal corporation is forced to repaint the pavements and rebuild the ageing sidewalls.
